Studds Track Helmet Review
Studds is one of the oldest and reputable helmet manufacturing company in India. They also export their helmets to over 35 countries. No doubt Studds offers quality helmets at a reasonable price.
Track Open Face Helmet is available in unicolor and graphics options. The helmet comes with removable and replaceable liners. The helmet is available in L (580 mm) size. Studds Accessories Limited is one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of Helmets and two wheeler accessories in India. Studds has a strong global presence with partners in over 35 countries.
Design and Specifications
The design and built of the helmet is such that it does not suit people with a big a head. The helmet looks huge on head and gives a weird look to the rider. The outer shell comes with a textured finishing and is completely scratch resistant
Visor and Air Ventilation
The helmet has spare visors which are available in clear, smoke tint, mirror and rainbow options. The visor is completely scratch resistant and detachable. Though it is not recommended to wear a helmet without a visor but a pillion can wear this without the visor. There is no vent for air ventilation due to its design and type. If you are a fast pace rider then you would get a lot of air inside your helmet from the front side just below the visor which might cause some discomfort to you. Anyways this helmet would not suit a racing type of rider (like me 🙂 ) who is keen to ride fast whenever he gets onto a bike.
The weight of this helmet is 1.3 Kgs so it cannot be considered a light weight helmet. I would have considered it a light weight helmet if the weight would have been less than 1 kg.
Overall its an excellent choice for bike riders as it’s so light weight, durable, protective and of course good looking. Its quite compact and easy to wear even for people with specs. The only drawback I can see in this helmet is there is no lock.
Should you buy this Helmet?
If you are a racing type of rider then you must go for the full face helmet or a flip-up helmet. Because this helmet would suit someone who rides short distances within the city and usually drives really slow. It would also suit my school going and college going friends who roam around their neighborhood on a Scooty and cautious of being caught by the cop waiting to give them a fine for not wearing a helmet.
